The Pediatric Neurology Service of Wigmore Hospital for Children carries out diagnosis and treatment of complex neurological diseases. Equipped with the latest generation of equipment and instruments, it is possible to carry out the treatment of the following pathological conditions:
- Different age manifestations of epilepsy
- Management of autism spectrum disorders
- Intracranial infections: meningitis, encephalitis
- Vascular pathologies: arterial stroke, venous sinus thrombosis, subarachnoid hemorrhage, intracerebral hemorrhage
- Demyelinating diseases of the central nervous system: optic neuritis, multiple sclerosis, MOG antibody-associated disease, NMO
- Infectious demyelinating vascular traumatic lesions of the spinal cord
- Peripheral nerve fiber lesions: Guillain-Barre syndrome, other cranial and peripheral nerve fiber lesions
- Diseases of the neuromuscular combination (synapse): myasthenia gravis, botulism, management and treatment of congenital myasthenias
- Management of muscle diseases: myopathy, myotonia, myodystrophy (Duchen's muscular dystrophy)
- Headache: (primary: migraine, tension, cluster, etc.) diagnosis, treatment
- Management of cerebral palsy and genetic diseases
The department is equipped with the latest generation electroencephalography (EEG) equipment.
