Wigmore Hospital Launches Ethics and Bioethics Committee

Wigmore Group has initiated the establishment of an Institutional Review Board (IRB), creating a formal mechanism for the ethical and bioethical oversight of research activities. The Committee will operate by integrating research practices with ethical standards, ensuring consistent review, approval, and monitoring of studies.

The Committee’s objectives include:

Ensuring the protection of human rights, participant safety, and overall well-being during all stages of research
Ensuring ethical and bioethical compliance of scientific publications and studies․

Core functions of the Committee include:

Approval or rejection of studies based on ethical and bioethical standards
Requesting modifications when necessary to ensure compliance
Adhering to local and international regulations, including guidelines set by the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports
Ongoing oversight of research activities to ensure integrity and accountability.

Researchers and individuals involved in scientific studies are eligible to apply for the IRB Committee review.
