About us
Welcome to Wigmore healthcare education foundation․

Our mission is to strengthen Armenia’s healthcare system by advancing innovative health programs, promoting prevention and wellness, and expanding continuous professional development and training throughout all regions․

The purpose of the Foundation is to:
  1.  Develop and implement healthcare programs and projects aimed at the advancement of the sector, including social, and educational programs, charity projects;
  2.  Implement awareness programs focused on preventive medicine and healthy lifestyles, including campaigns, educational events, and meetings;
  3. Organize and carry out non-formal and formal educational programs, trainings, and events in the healthcare sector in Yerevan and all regions of the Republic of Armenia, in support of continuous professional education and development.
  4. Develop and implement various social and charitable programs in the healthcare sector.

Zaven Koloyan is the co-founder and director of Wigmore Group, a leading healthcare network dedicated to delivering high-quality, patient-centered medical services.

Wigmore Group encompasses Wigmore Women’s and Children’s Hospital, Wigmore Clinic, and Wigmore Family Health Center—together forming a comprehensive and modern healthcare ecosystem.

Dr. Koloyan earned his medical degree from Yerevan State Medical University and holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Yerevan State University. He further advanced his expertise through postgraduate studies in hospital management at Harvard Medical School.

With extensive professional experience, Dr. Koloyan is both a practicing spine surgeon and a healthcare entrepreneur. He has founded and led multiple healthcare organizations and initiatives, contributing to the development and advancement of modern medical services in the region.

Tatevik Koloyan is a seasoned public policy and management professional with extensive experience in development and promoting sustainable change in Armenia. Currently serving as Chief Development Officer at Wigmore Group, she leads initiatives that foster international partnerships in healthcare and support systemic reform through education and public relations.

Tatevik’s career spans over two decades, including key roles with the United Nations Development Programme, where she managed the Innovation and SDG Finance portfolio and contributed to Armenia's environmental and sustainable development programs.

Tatevik holds a postgraduate degree in Public Policy and Management from the University of London and has pursued advanced policy advisory course at NY Columbia University. She is passionate about leveraging innovation and systemic solutions to address Armenia's developmental challenges.

Dr. Karen Akopian, MD, PhD is a maxillofacial surgeon and healthcare manager with extensive experience in clinical practice and medical education. He serves as the Chief of Staff at “Wigmore Women's and Children's Hospital” and works as a maxillofacial surgeon at “Wigmore Clinic”.

Previously, Dr. Akopian held several key positions at Yerevan State Medical University, including Chief of Staff, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Maxillofacial Surgery, Advisor to the Rector, and Head of the IT Department. He also led the Centre of Excellence in Stomatology and served as Deputy Director at "Kanaker-Zeytun" Medical Centre.

Dr. Akopian graduated from Yerevan State Medical University, where he completed his residency and subsequently his postgraduate studies, earning a PhD in Medical Sciences, as well as an MBA. He has published one educational manual and 11 scientific articles in Armenian and international journals.

In addition to his professional activities, Dr. Akopian is an accomplished painter and poet. His creative works reflect his inner world and his love for humanity and art.
Dr. Akopian is married, has two daughters and a son.
